WHAT IS PARAFFIN WAX?
A derivative of crude mineral oil, paraffin wax is colourless, odourless and nontoxic. The ingredients in the paraffin, in conjunction with its warm temperature, work together to help rough or calloused skin on the feet become soft and smooth again. For best results, you should have a paraffin wax treatment after your normal palliative care.
WHAT TO EXPECT
After our podiatrist applies a moisturising cream to your feet, they are dipped, one at a time, into the warm, melted wax. After the foot is removed and the wax hardens, it may be dipped into the warm wax again to create layers of warmth and moisture. Next, the feet are wrapped in plastic and inserted into socks to hold in the heat. After about 20-30 minutes, the sock, the plastic and the wax are removed painlessly and with ease. After each client, unused paraffin wax is discarded of as a precaution.
