SPORTS PODIATRY & BIOMECHANICS ASSESSMENTS
Most sports injuries affect the lower limbs. People with poor foot and lower limb mechanics are more prone to sports-related injuries because impact is greater during sports and therefore instabilities are multiplied, causing injuries such as shin splints and knee pain.
Biomechanics (the way in which we walk), gait analysis and mechanical therapy are now a recognised part of an effective treatment programme when dealing with sports injuries.
